Michelle & Lai’s Intimate Garden Wedding in Morihouse Malaysia

When Michelle told me that their guest list would be small, I did not expect the number 11, which obviously puts this as the most intimate wedding I’ve ever photographed.

I knew this would be one very special celebration which redefines what tradition means for the couple and their family, and perhaps an inspiration to all the couples out there who are looking to do something different for their special day. With only 11 attendees, whom are all immediate family members, the wedding was cosy, laid back and packed with fun activities that kept everyone engaged while leaving the couple with keepsakes they will treasure forever.

Since the couple did not have any pre-wedding photos taken, we took our sweet time to explore the beautiful estate of Morihouse after their private exchange of vows by the lake. On this day, they’ve created for themselves a sanctuary of joy and celebration with many personalised details especially their outfit, both fully customised to incorporate Malaysia’s multicultural elements within the design: detachable Mandarin (Chinese) collar and buttons on a lehenga (Indian) made from songket weave (Malay) fabric. And it’s worth mentioning that the groom’s outfit was tailor made by his dad, who’s also a menswear tailor. I could go on with the little details but I shall let the photos do the talking for now.
